Blue BI and Angelini Pharma: a journey toward digital excellence and Artificial Intelligence.
On September 18th, at the Data Management Summit in Turin, Marco Bagalini from Angelini Pharma and Alberto Ferrara from Blue BI presented their speech on “Accelerating Digital Excellence through DataOps: The BI Journey at Angelini Pharma.“
During the presentation, they illustrated the path Angelini Pharma has taken, with the support of its partner Blue BI, to evolve from a traditional IT structure to a more innovative, data-driven approach, oriented toward enabling Artificial Intelligence.
To optimize analysis and better manage various data sources, the company implemented a hybrid data platform that integrates its SAP system with Microsoft Azure. A fundamental step in this evolution was the transition from a data warehouse to a data lake. This shift allowed Angelini to manage omnichannel data and conduct near real-time analysis, as demonstrated by the effective use of a digital dashboard.
Finally, Bagalini and Ferrara emphasized the importance of data governance and a well-structured data catalog. These elements are considered the essential foundations for a future and secure implementation of generative AI.
