Blue BI, which has always considered Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) to be fundamental, has renewed its partnership with 3Bee, a company that develops innovative technologies to protect biodiversity, monitor the needs of bees, and intervene when they are not well.
Together with 3Bee, we have created the Blue BI Oasis, aimed at protecting biodiversity and pollinators through 3Bee’s regeneration projects.
The tech beehive we have adopted helps improve the health of many bees by sending health data, enabling prompt action if the colony is in trouble. Additionally, the health status of the bee colonies in the hives provides insights into the level of biodiversity in the area.
Conversely, by analyzing the sound of the queen’s buzz and the hive’s internal temperature, the beekeeper receives alerts when food supplies are low and about the queen’s brood status.
Adherence to UNGC Principles
Blue BI, which also adheres to the UNGC principles, contributes to the following points through its partnership with 3Bee:
- Zero Hunger: Protecting bees supports the pollination process of plants and, consequently, enhances ecosystem resilience in terms of food production.
- Quality Education: Promoting the project to interested parties helps raise awareness about the importance of protecting pollinators and conserving biodiversity and ecosystems. Awareness is the most effective way to combat biodiversity loss by encouraging consumers to make more informed choices.
- Decent Work and Economic Growth: Adopting sustainability and biodiversity initiatives, combined with appropriate communication, can lead to indirect growth for the company through increased appeal to the business, its products, and strengthening its brand as an industry example.
- Climate Action: Pollinators contribute to the reproduction of many plant species, preserving ecosystem resilience and indirectly participating in emission absorption, thus aiding the fight against climate change.
- Life on Land: Pollinators perform essential ecosystem services, maintaining ecosystem health and preserving the dynamic balance between plant growth and the animal world.
- Partnerships for the Goals: To support the ecological transition, it is necessary to adopt an integrated approach that includes solutions and projects like “Adopt a Hive,” which address the aforementioned sustainable development goals.
Below, you can see the results we achieved in 2023 thanks to our partnership with 3Bee. Among the most important data are: 300,000 bees protected, 300 million flowers pollinated, and 161 kg of nectar produced by trees.
